Spring Update: Hume New England

By: Tim Desilets, Hume New England Site Director

Greetings from Hume New England!

It’s Spring here in Monterey, Massachusetts which means our red Adirondack chairs are spread out around the property, flowers are starting to pop up, and the grass will soon need to be mowed!  We have plenty to celebrate this spring, so we wanted to take a moment to let you celebrate with us and share with you a few items you can join us in prayer for!

On April 5th, we welcomed the largest group ever to come to Hume New England. A group of 320 women from Activation Church in Peabody, Massachusetts, joined us for a great weekend.  We’ve been preparing for a group of over 300 people for the last six months by adding some new ovens and warmers to the kitchen as well as 100 new chairs for the Hilltop Chapel. The weekend was a great success and we’re excited to welcome more of these larger groups in the future.

In March, we submitted the latest set of plans for our RV Park. Although we won the lawsuit that permits us to build the park, we still have to work with two separate town boards in order to gain official approval. Our next set of meetings will happen at the end of April and we hope to begin construction before summer officially starts!

Lastly, we’ve been blessed by an incredible group of staff this past year and are fully hired for Summer 2024.  Having a consistent staff allows us to serve our guests well and makes our community here in New England vibrant and strong.
