As summer at Hume Christian Camps has wrapped up, we are turning our attention to the upcoming 2025 Winter Camp season. This past summer, we witnessed countless moments of transformation, many of which were made possible by the generosity of those who support our Campership program.
One story that stands out is from Israel, one of the band members in Ponderosa’s summer band. We met in line at the Snack Shop during Summer Staff orientation week, where we struck up a conversation while waiting for our burgers and milkshakes. Israel shared that his first experience at Hume was made possible by a Campership when he was in high school. It was here a Hume that he encountered the gospel in a powerful way, solidifying his relationship with the Lord. The joy in his eyes as he talked about how that week changed his life was unmistakable. Now, years later, he’s giving back by serving at Hume, using his talents to help others experience the same life-changing power of the gospel.
Another story comes from a mom of four, whose family has felt the weight of financial strain. As a pastor’s family, they had worked hard to raise funds to get their high schoolers to camp, but it was Camperships that made it possible for their children, along with many others in their youth group, to attend camp. The mom expressed deep gratitude, knowing that a week at Hume was more than just fun and games—it was an opportunity for her kids to hear the gospel and grow in their faith in a world that desperately needs hope.
These stories are a reminder of the profound ripple effect your donations to Camperships create. This generation is searching for truth, and a week at camp can forever change their lives as they hear the gospel and encounter Christ.
