Security has a special job during the summer, being one of the first people to greet Hume Lake’s guests. Most of you have pulled through the booth at some point and gotten a friendly nod, wave, and smile from one of the Security team. We asked the Security Supervisors, Anna and Chris Ferree, a few questions about the team that will be serving at the Lake this summer…
Anna and Chris, tell us about yourselves and how you came to lead Security in the summer.
Chris and I are teachers by trade from Atascadero, CA. We first came to Hume as friends to a college retreat in the late 1980s. We have been married for 30 years and have two grown children and two grandbabies. We came to Hume as cabin counselors for our church, Atascadero Bible Church, for about 15 summers! This is our second summer working as Security Supervisors.
What is your desire for your team as you serve at Hume?
Our security team is working toward growing and deepening our relationships with the Lord and one another. This needs to be the foundation as we live out our purpose to serve with love and compassion so that God’s glory can be known. It is our intent to be a positive first face and calming presence as we seek to eliminate distractions. The security staff counts it as an honor to have this opportunity.
How can we be praying for you this summer?
We would love your prayer that we, as individuals, would abide in God as our source and strength and that we would allow the Holy Spirit to bond us as a team, and His love would shine through us as we serve this campus.
