Since I left Hume in 2015 working full time, I was first an associate middle school pastor in Westlake Village, California, before making the big move out of California to Texas in 2016, where I was the video producer at First Baptist Church Arlington up until 2021. However, because of my employment at First Baptist, I met my wife, Bonnie, who works for another ministry that FBCA supports. We started dating at the beginning of 2020 and were married in November of the same year. And then, in 2021, we found out we were pregnant and had our first child, Margaret “Maggie” Grace White. In 2021, I left FBCA and started a new role as the Creative Coordinator for a church called Northwood. And we currently live in DFW.
Throughout my time at Hume as a camper, Joshua Student, Summer-Staffer, Intern, and Full Timer, I continued to see how God can work in the lives of kids and students in such a short amount of time. Hume is such a special place for me as it created a firm foundation for me as a Christ Follower. To this day, I still use creative elements taught at Hume in the videos I create at churches here in Texas (I recreated a full-on Camp Enforcer Video). I will forever be thankful for the speakers, staff, and students I met while working or attending Hume. I always think of a way to bring the Hume Experience to Texas.
Funny story, like the ripples in the Hume logo going throughout the world, I still get people who come up to me ( Because I still wear Hume Apparel, thanks to Karley Mase) and say, “Oh my goodness, Hume Lake!!!”. And we chat about how they were familiar with Hume. And it just shows that the ripples of Hume’s Ministry are still reaching the ends of the earth.
