How to Pray for Winter Camp 2023

We reached out to the Winter Camp Directors at each of our campuses, asking how we, as a Hume Community, can pray for this year’s Winter Camp. Here is what they asked for:

  • For the staff as they arrive. That they would have safe travels and pray that the team would have hearts prepared to serve and communicate the truths found in scripture.
  • Pray for Snow!
  • Pray for the students coming. The theme will walk them through Ephesians 4:17-32. The whole idea is that the life of a believer is a complete transformation from the old self. Pray that the students would understand this and desire it for their own life!
  • Pray for Health. For the staff and campers.
  • Pray for the details of camp to come together- so many pieces go into making camp happen!
  • Pray for the counselors and youth leaders- in the lead-up time to camp, during camp, and as they go home.

About the Winter Camp Theme:

We live in a world that tries to define what it means to be a Christian. Some people claim that being Christian means you prayed a prayer one time. Others argue that you went from being a bad person to a good person. Ultimately, the Bible tells us exactly what it means to be a Christian, and it involves so much more than just those things. In reality, becoming a Christian means that God has brought us from death to life and He alone is the one that does this. As a result, we are no longer the ones who live, but Christ lives in us. As we study Ephesians 4:17-32, we hope to understand what it means to truly live in light of this transformation. This winter we are going to look at what it means to go from death to life through Christ and how our lives should reflect that life-changing transformation.

Spiritual Direction

We will dive into Ephesians 4 as we look at what it means to live a completely transformed life as a result of knowing Christ.

Visual Direction

We will use a series of short-form videos with the analogy of a Craftsman and four different crafts to show how He transforms, refortifies, and repurposes His creations.
