From John Boal, Executive Director
Have you ever pondered what the difference is between Merry and Happy? In my research, I’ve found Merry is an outward expression of joy or celebration, while Happy is more of an interpersonal emotional expression. So, as we approach the Christmas season, my family chooses to use the expression Merry Christmas. Just like the angels in Luke 2:10, the angels brought the shepherds “good news of great joy” (ESV). The Boal family is celebrating the good news of great joy that Jesus brings to our lives. 2022 has been a year of good news and great joy in our family. Our son Jesse not only continues to recover from a life-threatening illness but will be adding a new member to our family as he has become engaged to Vanessa Norris. She will join our family officially on May 13! Merry Christmas!!!
One of the benefits of the recent pandemic for our family is allowing our daughter Hannah to work remotely from Hume. It brings us great joy to have her close. Merry Christmas!!!
The year for Lyn and I has been one of great joy, not just because of what God has done in the lives of our children but for what he is doing in our personal lives. Too often in ministry, we forget to slow down enough to express our joy to the world for God sending His Son for us personally. So, this year, Lyn and I want to express to you, MERRY CHRISTMAS, “for unto us is born this day in the city of David a Savior” (ESV).
May you and yours have a Merry Christmas from our home to yours,
John, Lyn, Hannah & Jesse
